Anyone else ever feed squirrels from their hand?

F'n sharp little claws when they grab onto your hand. Guess that's how they can run up and down trees though.Anyone else ever feed squirrels from their hand?
Believe it or not, squirrels can be trained to be hand-fed. Because they are able to cache surplus food, they will take as much food as you put out. If a person starts to feed one, that squirrel will come back day after day to get its food.

Hand feeding is not recommended, however, because squirrels may carry plague or other animal-borne diseases. Even if they do not carry disease, they often have a hard time telling fingertips from food, and bites are painful.Anyone else ever feed squirrels from their hand?
I have many times, You got to go slow at 1st, Mine would sit on my knee and eat peanuts
My father puts a nut in his mouth and practically lets the squirrels crawl inside his mouth. Seems like a risky behavior, though. Rabies, hanta and such. I feed them, though. They just aren't allowed to scamper over my head and such. That's rude and squirrels know it.
My mom had a squirrel we would get peanuts for (5lbs unshelled unsalted per week) , she would eat out of your hand and she even brought her babies over to our house when they were big enough.
Be extremely careful around wild animals, they can carry diseases like rabies that can be harmful or fatal to humans. ALWAYS wash your hands after contact with these animals. It is not advised to feed them from your hand, no matter how ';tame'; or ';used to'; people they are, they are still wild animals.

Please be careful.
